Confirm that CortexaNote is detecting audio

Before beginning your session, speak into the microphone and check the audio indicator. If the audio bars move while you speak, CortexaNote detects sound. If not, follow the steps below.

Enable microphone permissions

CortexaNote needs permission to access your microphone through your device and your browser when using the CortexaNote web platform.

iOS:

  1. Open your device's Settings.

  2. Select Privacy & Security.

  3. Select Microphone.

  4. Turn on microphone access for CortexaNote.

Android:

  1. Open your device's Settings.

  2. Select Apps.

  3. Find and select CortexaNote.

  4. Select Permissions.

  5. Select Microphone, then choose Allow while using the app.

Windows:

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Select Privacy & Security

  3. Select Microphone.

  4. Turn on Microphone access.

  5. Make sure your browser is allowed to access the microphone.

Mac:

  1. Open System Settings.

  2. Select Privacy and Security.

  3. Select Microphone.

  4. Turn on microphone access for the browser you use with CortexaNote.

Enable browser microphone permissions

When recording on the CortexaNote web platform, select Allow when your browser asks for microphone access. If microphone access was previously blocked, update the permission through your browser settings, then refresh the CortexaNote page.

Select the correct microphone

Before beginning a session, confirm CortexaNote is using the microphone you intend to record with.

On the web:

CortexaNote will use your system's default microphone. To change it, select the microphone button in the top-left corner of your browser. Then select the microphone you would like to use.

In the mobile app:

When beginning a recording, you will be asked to select a microphone to use. Select the one you intend to use.
